Our Fleet

The South Orlando Rowing Association would not be celebrating it’s 25-year anniversary without the generous support of parent volunteers.  Many of our shells are named after parent volunteers or someone who has made an impact on our program.

Justin M Lednar Women’s Varsity 8+  Named after 2005-2010 head coach and co-creator of the Head of the Giblet Regatta.
Magruder II Men’s Novice 8+  Made possible by the generousity of the Magruder Foundation
Gloary Women’s Novice 8+ (History coming soon)
Colonel Men’s Varsity 4+ Named in honor of Coach Mike Parmenter’s father
 Emily Racing 4+  (History coming soon)
Al Smith Women’s 4+ (History coming soon)

Charles Bruno Racing 2-/x Named in honor of 2-term president and long time parent volunteer Charles Bruno
The Hawkins Racing 2-/x Named in honor of the Hawkins family.  Their three children each rowed 4 years for SORA and Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins gave every moment of their free time through board leadership and regatta hospitality 
Unnamed 4+/x Racing 4+/x+ to be named.  This shell serves all programs (middle school to adult) and is our first 4x
Unnamed 8+ Racing 8+  to be named.

 Magnus Exitium  Racing 4+  This shell helped start the Lyman Rowing team.  An active racing 4+ for more than 10 years at Boone, it was sold to Lyman in 2006 where it got a face lift and is still raced today.
